AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT AN OFFENDER CLASSIFIED IN TRUSTEE STATUS MAY BE AWARDED TRUSTEE EARNED TIME IN ADDITION TO OTHER REDUCTIONS OF SENTENCE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. In addition to any other administrative reduction of sentence, an offender in trustee status as defined by the classification committee of the Department of Corrections may be awarded a trustee time allowance of ten (10) days reduction of sentence for each thirty (30) days of participation in programs while in trustee status.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
